Contentment, relaxation, decreased feelings of stress, fear and anxiety as well as a reduction and in some cases elimination of physical illnesses and persistent conditions are common observations from clients after a Reiki session. There are countless case studies and anecdotal research verifying the effects of Reiki sessions.
Lisa Powers (Reiki Master), Reiki Master Manual
All living things are made up of energy. This energy has been given many names, such as prana, soul, chi, mana, to mention just a few. With the use of Kirlian photography science has been able to confirm the existence of this energy within our bodies.
We can keep the well-being of this energy through our habits, our diet, meditation, being outdoors, and by using positive thoughts.
During a Reiki session I act as a channel for the energy to flow through me and into you, the client. It is this energy that helps your body to heal itself, working on the physical, mental, and emotional levels.
What Reiki Can Do
Reiki works with the energetic, physical and emotional aspects of you, the client, and helps to address imbalances on all levels.
Reasons you may want to experience a Reiki session:
• General balancing
• Clearing emotional blocks
• Physical pain
• Increasing clarity
• Issues with life
How is Reiki different from other therapies?
Reiki is holistic in its approach. It works with your symptoms and also the root cause of the imbalance. It helps to restore your body’s natural ability to heal and create balance for itself.
Reiki does not require the practitioner to physically touch the recipient, or to even be in the same room. One of the reasons Reiki is so powerful is that it is the life-force healing energy of the universe. This gives Reiki the capability to completely transcend distance and time. This permits me to send you Reiki wherever you are. You could be 12,000 miles away, on the other side of the world, and you will receive it instantaneously.
It’s thought that Reiki has been around for many centuries but nothing
was ever written down until the late 1800’s. It was at this time that Dr. Mikao Usui became ill and joined a Zen Buddhist monastery. He studied the healing methods and came across Reiki. After a period of fasting and meditation where he received enlightenment into the healing practice, he then went on to use Reiki to heal himself and other people.
Dr Usui then passed the teaching on to other people, who themselves went on to teach others. Reiki is now used around the world as a form of hand-on healing. It is widely respected and there is estimated to be over one million Reiki Masters, and over four million practitioners.
