I get asked all the time to make the policies cheaper. This is after I’ve explained that the first year is a lower cost as an introductory offer. Never mind that the first year is £1 per month, some customers still want it cheaper.
‘I’ve had policies with you before,’ said one woman, ‘so can you discount it?’
‘…are offering the same policy cheaper. Can you match their price?’
‘I’ve got other policies with you. Can’t you discount it?’
The simple answer to these questions and the countless others that are asking the same thing, is ‘no’. The price of the policy is exactly as it is. My answer will not change. The first year is a lower price. The only change I can make is to put the first years price up to the second years. I have offered to do this on more than one occasion. It doesn’t go down too well, but it shuts them up.
If people can’t afford £1 a month to get insurance for certain things in their home, that could cost £100’s to repair, then what exactly are they doing buying cigarettes and booze. How are they managing to run their cars?
Is this country being reduced to a state of beggars? Or is that so many people are unemployed that they feel that everything should be free?
